Below is a list of typical items to bring on a Pack 156 camping trip. Items brought by the pack are noted as such.
Ground Cloth/tarps. It’s a good idea to put one under a tent to protect the tent.
Tent (with stakes)
Cot, foam pads, or inflatable mattresses. Rocks are not fun to sleep on.
At least 30° Sleeping Bags (the rating is what the bag will let you survive in, not what you be comfortable in)
Camping Pillows
Blankets
Hand warmers (a few are great to boost warmth in a sleeping bag)
Lanterns (electric or gas)
Small Dustpan and brush to clean out dirt in a tent.
Mosquito repellent
Extra paracord
Mess kits
Roasting forks for hot dogs/marshmallows
Salt/Pepper (Pack brings these)
Coffee (usually helps to coordinate with the rest of the group)
Butane stove
Extra butane
Coffee
French press or coffee pot or even a big pot if you want to attempt cowboy coffee.
A few napkins or a roll of paper towels
Can opener (usually found on most utility pocket knives, pack brings this)
Ziplock bags (Pack brings these)
Water
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Something fun for those times between activities, e.g. books, games, etc
Snacks for those times where the next meal is just too far off.

Wipes
Soap
Trash bags (Pack brings these)
Towels for drying everything (might get dirty)
Rubber mallet (Pack brings one)
Toilet Paper (usually this is available but it doesn’t hurt to throw a roll in the back of the
car just in case)
Typical outdoor clothing (layers are a good idea)
Jacket/hoodie (layers are good)
Hats/gloves
Long thick socks (wool is best)
Sleep Wear
Sweat pants
Long sleeve top
Hiking shoes and slip-on shoes, e.g. crocs, for those late night bathroom runs
First Aid Kit
Whistle
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
Trail food
Refillable water bottle
Flashlight (head lamps or handheld and don’t forget extra batteries)
Non-aerosol bug spray or wipes
